The seasoned composer, who has composed for dozens of films in different languages, has been in the industry for several decades. And a few words of appreciation from the maestro mean a lot and great encouragement to many artists, regardless of their background in the music industry.

Now, well-known Carnatic music duo Ranjani-Gayatri have been praised by Ilaiyaraaja after attending their concert, which saw them perform their compositions with their signature Carnatic touch. Ilaiyaraaja has now taken to his social media page to share a video, praising the duo for performing his songs and helping him see the compositions from a different perspective. Along with the video he shared, he also wrote, “Their interpretation of some of my cinematic compositions without compromising the classic sampradhaya left me spellbound and looking back at my work from a different perspective…their success is success great music!! (sic).”

Responding to her video, the music duo, on social media, wrote: “Infinite gratitude, we are blessed beyond measure. Pranams to the one and only maestro @ilaiyaraaja sir. #RaajaIsGod #blessed (sic).” They also responded to the video shared by the maestro and said, “We are so overwhelmed and moved by your magnanimity that we take your words of appreciation as a blessing. Singing this concert has been a journey of immense musical enrichment. for us our sincere gratitude and pranams to the one and only sir @ilaiyaraaja.(sic)”.
